Japanese Charcoals are a semi quick lighting brand designed for Hookah smoking. These Charcoals are tasteless, odorless and do not interfere with the flavor of the tobacco. great coals, love em These coals work well if you use a lighter or a stove. I even use a 25 cent butane lighter to light them while I'm camping. Last forever, too. Won't ever go back to the crappy round black things again.

Coal of choice I highly recommend this coal. I tried three kings coals but buy these when available. These coals burn hot, they burn a long time and they do not contaminate my tobacco. Every one says you need a stove to light them thats not completely true just use a butane torch lighter. They light just as well with a stove.

Trust me on this... I have been smoking hookah several years, and I have tried every brand of coals / charcoals on the market to date. These coals are BY FAR the most amazing source of heat available. You get 100% ZERO taste of coal, they burn for a very long time, and I will never use anything else other than Authentic Japanese Charcoals. The only choice for those demanding the best quality.

This is what I use. I love these coals!!! I light them with my stove,turn the burner on high until it glows red,drop the coal on there for a second,and bamo instant lit coal...a lighter if worst comes to worst will work though,but an open flame or stove burner is best.
I have the sahara smoke 'dragon' hookah,13" tall unit,and these calls last exactly enough time to burn a bowl and not feel guilty about wasting coal!

Good They are good, but require a stove for lighting. The last guy must have been high on something when he thought it was lit. 2 at once works well, it never burns too hot. Much better than three kings.
