Walk past the brightly-lit and lively exterior sidewalk café tables, and step inside one of Long Beach's most upscale hookah restaurants. The bustling sidewalks with patrons laughing, smoking and chatting up over a cocktail compliments the indoor Egyptian palace, with it's beaded chandeliers, Arabic wall paintings and deep red lighting. Belly dancers maneuver around tables on Friday and Saturday nights, while couples and friends dine on Lebanese cuisines. Hookahs are imported from Egypt, Syria and Bahrain for acquaintances, friends or dates to share. The mostly 20-something crowd can choose between outdoor seating, a variety of music, food, dance and a fully-stocked bar, while Persian music videos are projected on the television screen inside. Pass up the hookah for a nice dinner by requesting indoor seating. And if you are not a fan of the loud music, skip over the late night weekend crowd, that is when the party is going off at this Long Beach hot spot. |
